Ecija farmer shot dead, another wounded in attack by 3 MC-riding men
LLANERA, Nueva Ecija — A 25-year-old farmer was shot dead while another was wounded during an attack staged by three unidentified motorcycle-riding men armed with short firearms on Monday night here.
Killed was Aljon Nares while wounded was Rolando Mallari Jr., both farmers, of Bgy. Murcon, this town.
Police said the shooting incident took place at 6:45 p.m. and was perpetrated by three men riding an unidentified motorcycle with kolong-kolong (skeleton sidecar).
The suspects were described to be wearing bonnets, camouflage jackets and short pants.
Nares was playing mobile games with his cellphone inside a nipa hut when the suspects arrived and without any provocation shot the victim repeatedly, killing him on the spot.
The suspects fired at Mallari after seeing him inside the house. Mallare ran and managed to escape despite getting wounded.
Police said a flash alarm has been sent out to other police units to locate the whereabouts of the three suspects and their vehicle.
