Ecija councilor gunned down byRIT in Guimba
GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija — A municipal councilor of Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija was gunned down in cold blood by unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects on her way to the town proper here on Sunday morning.
Town police head Major Jonathan S. Romero identified the slain victim as municipal councilor Angelique Alexis U. Paulino, 33, alias Konsi Angge, of Bgy. Sto. Rosario, Sto. Domingo.
Paulino, a party-mate of incumbent Sto. Domingo mayor Imee C. Llado-De Guzman at the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party, topped the municipal council race during the 2022 local polls.
Investigation showed the police responded to a phone call coming from Bgy. Maturanoc here, alerting them about a shooting incident that transpired along the Nueva Ecija-Pangasinan Road at 6:15 a.m.
The motorcycle-riding suspects overtook the victim’s car and shot her several times causing her vehicle, a metallic gray Hyundai Accent sedan (CBK-4734) to ram onto a concrete electric post along the side of the road.
Reports said the victim sustained at least seven to eight gunshot wounds from a still unknown type of gun caliber.
Police are still investigating the murder incident.
