Ecija cops net drug ‘trafficker’; P.9M shabu, gun seized
CABANATUAN CITY – A 58-year-old suspected drug “trafficker” was arrested after he yielded a cal. 45 pistol and illegal drugs worth about P900,000 during a buy-bust operation conducted on Friday night here.
In a report to Nueva Ecija top cop Col. Richard V. Caballero, city police head Lt. Col. Edilmar G. Alviar said the buy-bust operation was pulled off in Purok 7, Baranagy San Josef Sur at 8 p.m. where an undercover cop was able to purchase shabu from the suspect using a P1,000 marked money and 25 pieces of P1,000-boodle money.
The arrested suspect, of Purok 3, Bgy. Bantug Bulalo, this city, did not resist arrest after he was also caught in possession of an Armscor cal. 45 pistol loaded with seven bullets.
Alviar said eight plastic sachets of shabu were seized from the suspect, weighing 129.3 grams and valued at P879,240.
Separate charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 and RA 10591 are now being prepared for inquest filing against the suspect at the Cabanatuan City Prosecutor’s Office.
