CABANATUAN CITY – A suspected drug peddler on Friday night was arrested while an unlicensed pistol and shabu worth P136,000 were seized from him during a sting operation conducted in this city.

Meanwhile, four wanted persons were caught while six loose firearms were voluntarily turned over to authorities as a result of intensified anti-criminality and manhunt operations conducted by the Nueva Ecija police in preparation for the upcoming 2025 midterm polls.

Alias “Bokald,” 55, of Isarog St., Bgy. Mabini Homesite, was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted at 8:20 p.m. in this city on Friday

In a report to Nueva Ecija top cop Col. Ferdinand D. Germino, city police head Lt. Col. Renato C. Morales said the arrested suspect yielded a cal. 45 pistol loaded with nine bullets and five plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 20 grams worth P136,000.

The four wanted felons accused of crimes such as reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property, homicide and serious physical injuries, qualified trespass to dwelling, and qualified theft were caught during separate operations in the towns of Aliaga, Lupao, and Bongabon.

It was also reported that six loose firearms consisting of three cal.38, one shotgun, and two cal.22, were voluntarily turned in to various police stations in Llanera, Lupao, Nampicuan, San Antonio, Laur, and San Isidro in line with the PNP’s Balik-Baril program.

“I commend our law enforcement officers for their unwavering dedication to maintaining law and order in our province. As we approach the midterm elections, let us continue to collaborate in creating a safe and secure environment for all,” said Germino.

The operations were in response to the call of newly-appointed Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Rederico A. Maranan to prioritize the well-being and safety of the communities across Central Luzon.
