Ecija cops bag wanted rapist
ALIAGA, Nueva Ecija – Police nabbed a sexagenarian ranked as this town’s top three most wanted person after an arrest warrant for rape was served against him on Wednesday.
Arrested was Felix Lorenzo, 63, married, of Bgy. San Emiliano.
Town police head Major Neilmar T. Retana said the suspect was arrested during a a manhunt operation in Bgy. Poblacion East 1 at 10:50 a.m.
In his report to Provincial Police head Col. Jess B. Mendez, Retana said the suspect was collared on the basis of an arrest warrant for rape by sexual assault with no bail recommended and violation of Section 5B of Republic Act 7610 with recommended bail of P150,000, docketed under Criminal Case Nos. 28832-AF and 28833-AF.
The town police official added that the successful operation was conducted by joint operatives of the Aliaga police, the NEPPO-PIU, the provincial highway patrol team, the 1st and 2nd provincial mobile force company, and the 303rd MC-Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
The arrested suspect is now locked up at the detention facility here for proper disposition.
