AN e-trike thief was wounded while his cohort escaped after they shot it out with operatives from the Manila Police District (MPD) at the corner of Herbosa and Velasquez Streets in Tondo, Manila.

Suspect Jordan Cortesiano, 19, of 1010 B Yuseco St., Tondo, Manila, underwent treatment for a bullet wound in the stomach while his accomplice, identified as CJ Geronimo, 23, of Pacheco Street also in Tondo, escaped. Both are said to be members of the Sigue-Sigue Commando Gang.

Investigation showed the operation stemmed from a complaint about an e-trike that went missing last May 23 while it was parked in front of a house located on 517 Pacheco Street.

PSSg John Pierre Bautista conducted an operation and saw the said e-trike along Capulong Street.

A stakeout was made and at around 11 p.m. of Monday, police saw Cortesiano board the e-trike.

Cortesiano apparently sensed the presence of cops and got off again then rode a tricycle driven by Geronimo.

Police gave chase and Cortesiano fired at them. The cops returned fire and hit him in the stomach.

Aside from the gun used, five sachets of shabu were also seized from the suspect, police said.
