PRESIDENT Rodrigo Roa-Duterte has signed into law a bill creating the Third Legislative District of Caloocan City which will take effect in the 2022 national and local elections.

Under House Bill 7700 sponsored by Caloocan 1st District Congressman Dale “Along” Malapitan, the First Legislative District will be composed of Barangays 1 to 4, Barangays 77 to 86 and Barangays 132 to 177 while District 3 will be composed of Barangays 178 to 188.

Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan expressed his gratitude to President Duterte, Senator Francis Tolentino, Senator Imee Marcos and Congressman Along Malapitan for sponsoring the bill.

Mayor Oca said.

For his part, Rep. Along said the law was not only designed to address the patent inequity of representation but most of all to help guarantee development in far-flung barangays and extend government assistance to its residents.
