A GROUP of “barkers”, including a woman moonlighting as a “drug peddler” were arrested by authorities in a drug sting operation Friday evening in Taguig City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said the arrest of Rommel Sta Ana, 51; Danny Lito Orsales, 34; Aldrin Pascual, 42; and Emilyn Waquiz, 44, all residing in Taguig City, stemmed from the complaints of PUV (public utility vehicle) drivers allegedly being lured by the suspects to buy illegal drugs.

The buy-bust operation by joint elements of SPD-District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), District Intelligence Division (DID), and District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) against the suspects was carried out at around 9:40 p.m. along Capistrano Ext. Bgy. Hagonoy in Taguig City.

During the operation, operatives confiscated from the arrested suspects a multi-colored sling bag containing more or less 25 grams of shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P170,000 and the P500 buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office for a case of selling, possession, and conspiracy under Article II of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
