POLICE seized suspected shabu worth more than P1 million from a drug suspect in a buy-bust in Quezon City on Thursday night.
PLt. Col. Jerry Castillo, chief of the Novaliches Police Station (PS 4), identified the suspect as Abdul Mamantar, 53, of Kabesang Porong St., Brgy. Punturin, Valenzuela City.
The suspect was arrested at around 10:30 p.m. along Villanova Ave., corner Gen. Luis St., Brgy. Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City.
Based on the report, a police officer acted as poseur buyer and bought P100,000 worth of shabu from the suspect. He was arrested when a signal was given to proceed with the operation.
The operatives confiscated 200 grams of shabu worth P1.36 million, a sling bag; a cellular phone and the buy-bust money from the suspect’s possession.
The suspect will be charged for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
QCPD Director, PBGen. Nicolas D Torre III commended the PS 4 operatives and said, “We will continue to pursue and suppress such illegal activities in our city to maintain peace and order.”
