Drug suspect gets shot in the leg during P409K drug sting in Cabanatuan
CABANATUAN CITY — A drug suspect was shot in the leg when he fought off undercover operatives arresting him during a buy-bust operation here on Tuesday night which also resulted in the arrest of his woman-cohort and the seizure of an estimated P409,360-worth of shabu and an licensed pistol from him.
Nueva Ecija top cop Col. Richard V. Caballero identified the arrested suspects as alias Dading, 32, and his cohort as alias Jane, both of Pantoc Uno, Bgy. Daan Sarile, this city.
He said the sting operation was pulled off by anti-illegal drug operatives of the Cabanatuan police under Lt. Col. Edilmar G. Alviar and the Regional Intelligence Unit 3-Provincial Intelligence Unit-Nueva Ecija at District 2, Purok 1, Bgy. San Juan ACCFA at 9:45 p.m.
Alviar said alias Dading was wounded after getting shot in the left leg when arresting operatives retaliated after he opened fire at them.
He said a total of 13 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 60.2 grams with a street value of P409,360, including the buy-bust money worth P2,000 were seized from the suspects.
Alviar said the two arrested suspects were brought to the police station and will be slapped with separate charges for violation of Articles 151 and 148 of the Revised Penal Code, and violation of Republic Acts 10591 and 9165 before the city prosecutor’s office here.
