OVER P18 million worth of shabu were confiscated by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency from 10 of their top targets in the countryside, a report to PDEA chair Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo said yesterday.

Three of the suspects were arrested in a notorious drug den on Caimito Street in Barangay Cembo, Taguig City which was raided by PDEA and local police operatives on early morning Tuesday.

Recovered in the operation were some 20 grams of shabu valued at P136,000 and various drug paraphernalia.

Two other suspects identified as Josephose Pintal and Jezper Cañete were arrested in a sting in Barangay Dangay, Roxas, Oriental Mindoro.

The two were tagged as major drug distributors in Mimaropa region and Metro Manila.

Undercover officers from the PDEA Oriental Mindoro conducted the successful buy-bust with the support of the Roxas Municipal Police Station, the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group, the National Bureau of Investigation and the Police Regional Office 4-B, the PDEA said.

Confiscated from the two were some 2,250 grams of shabu valued at P15.3 million.

The PDEA said the two suspects are believed to be big-time shabu distributors from the National Capital Region who were also transporting shabu to the province and other parts of Mimaropa and nearby regions.

Four other suspects were arrested in simultaneous anti-narcotics raids in Tuguegarao City which resulted in the recovery of more than P1.5 million worth of shabu.

The operations conducted on the basis of a search warrant for illegal possession of drugs issued by the Tuguegarao City Regional Trial Court Branch led to the arrest of Hadji and Hadja Panda, Alimbasar Panda and Mohammad Regaro.

Recovered from the suspects were a total of 215 grams of shabu valued at P1.460 million.

The seventh suspect Nizar Alulong, 34, was arrested in a buy-bust at a mall parking lot in Barangay Ampid 1, San Mateo, Rizal.
