SUPORTADO ng isang dating high ranking official ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang laban ng commuter at transport group na ibasura ang No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) ng mga local government units.

Sa isang interview sinabi ni Elvira Medina, dating official ng DOTr at founder ng National Center for Commuter Safety and Protection (NCCSP), 100% suportado nito ang laban ng transport group na amyendahan agad ang NCAP o ayusin munang mabuti bago ipatupad.

Pinuri din ni Medina ang isang high ranking official ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) na sumusuporta sa mga transport group at nagsabing dapat talaga ang traffic violator o driver ang managot hindi ang operator o register owner.

“I fully agree and support this. In the past, operators of buses were unduly penalized instead of the drivers. This rule will also eliminate the use of fixers thus eradicating corruption. I congratulate LTO for this decision,” saad ni Medina.

Nitong Miyerkules, nagsama sama ang lahat ng mga transport at commuter groups (na kinabibilangan ng mga operator ng Taxi, Bus, Jeepneys, Motorcycle Taxi, Tricycle, School Service, TNVS, Van, Truck, at mga conductor) at mariing hiniling sa mga local government units na nagpapatupad nito ayusin muna ang NCAP bago ito ipatupad.

Ayon kay Atty. Ariel Inton, founder ng Lawyers for Commuters Safety and Protection LCSP, ngitngit na ngitngit na ang commuter at transport groups sa NCAP kaya sana pakinggan sila ng mga LGUs.

“Sa taas ng multa sa penalty mabigat talaga ang NCAP lalo na nga´t nasa pandemic pa tayo,” dagdag ni Inton.
