PHILIPPINE Christian University continued its remarkable showing by beating Tarlac State University, 83-62, for its fourth straight win and a share of the lead with Mapua in the Philippine University Basketball League basketball championship at Lam An Sports gym in Abad Santos, Manila.

Handled by coach Biboy Simon and Athletic Director Bambeng Iljiran, the Dolphins relied on Bryan and Yam Concetion in beating the Firefox in this six-team tournament organized by Federation of School Sports Athletic Association (FESSAP).

Bryan finished with 18 points and Yam had 15 points for the PCU which finished runner-up to University of Perpetual Help Dalta System last year.

Ian Austria and Llonel Failan contributed 10 points apiece for the Taft based school.

Mark Lawrence Non topscored with 12 points for Tarlac State University, which remainrd winless in four outings.

In the other game, Asian Institute of Maritime Studies outplayed De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, 87-72, for its second win in five matches.

The Blue Sharks of coach Amante Flores rode on Karlos Matthew Lapira’s 23 points in outplaying the Patriots.

Eric Siegfried Llamado and RonRay Bunda carried the fight for La Salle-Dasma with 23 and 19 points, respectively.

Antonio Quiza Sr. is the commissioner, Romulo Raytos is the tournament director while Nestor Macatuno and Nanding Gayanilo lead the technical committe. AA
