DOH rolls out vax for ages 5-11 in Cavite
BACOOR CITY, Cavite – Department of Health (DOH) Calabarzon led by Usec. Dr. Roger Tong-An, Field implementation and Coordination Team lead the simultaneous launching of COVID-19 pediatric vaccination for children aged 5 to 11 years old in Calabarzon Region, Monday, February 07, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital (STRH) in Barangay Habay 2, Bacoor City.
“97.5 percent of children inoculated did not experience disease and side effects after the vaccination, 2.4 percent experienced side effects, and .1 [percent] experienced severe effects but fully recovered,” Dr. Tong-an said in his speech during the program.
“We encourage parents to consult to their health care providers, before to proceed on vaccination program, katulad po natin na nabakunahan, magkakaroon po sila ng protection against COVID-19 and makakabalik na po tayo sa face to face classes,” Dr. Tong-an added.

Valencia, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla, and Dr. Ephraim Rubiano, Chief of Hospital, STRH.
Like Usec. Dr. Tong-an, Deputy Speaker Edwin “Strike” Revilla also encouraged the parents to bring their children to the nearest vaccination sites for kids to be vaccinated.
“Almost two years na po tayo nakakulong sa bahay, ito po ang paraan upang malampasan natin itong pandemiyang ito. Kaya po andito kame upang pangunahan at suportahan ang vaccination program ng gobyerno para sa kaligtasan ng ating pamilya,” Deputy Speaker Strike Revilla said.
There will also be inoculation in Batangas Medical Center in Batangas City.
DOH Calabarzon has 2,181,424 kids ages 5 to 11 to be inoculated for protection against Covid-19.
