DEPUTY Speaker and Cagayan de Oro City Rep. Rufus Rodriguez on Friday thanked the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) co-chaired by Health Sec. Francisco Duque and Cabinet Sec. Karlo Nograles for sending ventilators to his province.
On Thursday, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, Jr said that IATF is sending to Cagayan de Oro “ventilators to boost the city’s hospitals’ capacity to aid seriously ill patients”.
It will be recalled that Rodriguez last Monday, June 21, wrote letters to IATF Chairs Duque and Nograles requesting for 24 ventilators for CDO which they promptly answered on the same day replying that they will act on the requests.
Roque also announced that the government has placed 10 cities outside National Capital Region (NCR) in its priority list for vaccine distribution to help them contain the spread of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19), specially the highly contagious and possibly deadlier Delta variant.
Roque identified Cagayan de Oro as one of the ‘Plus 10’ cities.
Rodriguez thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for ordering the other day that more vaccines be delivered to areas in Mindanao where there is a high incidence of COVID-19.
