DOH-CALABARZON assures safety of employees from COVID-19
THE Department of Health – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) is ensuring that employees in the region are safe from COVID-19.
Dr. Eduardo C. Janairo, DOH regional director, said they have been conducting mass antigen and RT-PCT testing to all its employees to ensure their protection.
“We need to guarantee the safety and well-being of our own employees as they are always at the frontline doing the legwork and constantly exposed to the Covid virus while conducting fieldwork,” Janairo stressed.
“Kailangan lahat ay malaman natin ang kanilang health status upang sila ay maproteksyonan kasama na ang kanilang mga pamilya lalo na ngayong mabilis ang pagkalat ng virus at maraming namamatay,” he added.
The DOH official said the swab testing is being conducted to monitor the health status of every staff and promptly manage those showing or manifesting symptoms of the virus.
“All precautions must be considered this time and all health regulations must be implemented. Yung mga empleyado na magpositive sa COVID ay dinadala na sila agad sa isolation facility upang magpagaling at di na makahawa pa. Yung iba naman na asymptomatic ay home quarantine muna habang sila ay minomonitor ng RESU team. Timely and appropriate interventions ang kailangan upang hindi na kumalat pa ang virus,” he explained.
The COVID mass testing for employees started last Sept. 1.
As of Sept. 13, the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit recorded 1,599 new cases of COVID, bringing the total cases in CALABARZON to 295,663 with 44,818 active cases and 242,323 recoveries. A total of 8,522 died from the virus.
