D’NAVIGATORS shrugged off a first set loss to subdue Army 17-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-18, and reclaim the top spot yesterday in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference at the Paco Arena.

Jade Disquitado had 19 points and four digs, Jerome Cordez hammered 14 kills while setter John Michael Apolinario tossed in 27 excellent set to go along with two blocks as the Iloilo-based club stretch its perfect run to four.

Later, Jeremy Pedrosa and Pemie Bagalay teamed up for 24 kills as VNS pulled off a 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 20-25, 17-15 win over National University-Archipelago Builders.

Coach John Kenneth Panes rued his team’s opening set performance.

“Sabi ko lang sa kanila kulang kayo sa trabaho. Magtrabaho kayo nang maayos, gawin niyo ang part ninyo. Hindi pwedeng ganito kasi matatalo tayo kapag ganyan kayo.

Buti nakikinig sila,” said Panes.

“Ang job natin hindi pa tapos, marami pa tayong room for improvement, hindi pwedeng makampante. Kailangan pa nating magtrabaho dahil marami pa tayong remaining games,” he added.

Kevin Liberato had 19 points for the Troopers, who fell to 2-2 in a tie with the Griffins.

The Bullpups fell to 0-4.
