SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin Romualdez denied the allegations of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy that he and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is conniving with the United States of America government to harm him.

In a statement, Romualdez said the claims of connivance with foreign entities for illicit activities are unfounded and baseless.

According to Romualdez, this move of Quiboloy is clearly to divert attention from the serious legal matters.

Quiboloy is wanted in the US due to pending rape and sexual harassment cases. In the Philippines, his legal actions were also being investigated in the Senate. A subpoena for him to attend Congress hearing was already sent to him.

“We encourage Pastor Quiboloy to address his legal challenges through the proper legal channels and respect the legal processes in place,” Romualdez said.

The House leader reminded Quiboloy and his supporters that the Philippine government and its officials, including himself and the President, operate within the bounds of the constitution and laws.

“I have taken note of the recent statements made by Pastor Quiboloy. While I understand the gravity of the accusations he faces on the international stage, specifically from the FBI, it is important to clarify that We are committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of all individuals, without exception,” he said.

“The claims of connivance with foreign entities for illicit activities are unfounded and divert attention from the serious legal matters at hand. Our focus remains on serving the Filipino people and fostering relationships that benefit our nation, devoid of any engagement in criminal activities,” the House leader added.

“As public servants, we are dedicated to transparency, integrity, and the welfare of our country. We remain steadfast in our duties and responsibilities to the Filipino people and will not be swayed by baseless accusations. We advise the public to remain discerning of information and trust in the processes that uphold justice and democracy in our nation,” he also said.
