DINDIN Santiago-Manabat hopes to get a second wind in her professional career with Choco Mucho.

The Flying Titans yesterday made it official the acquisition of Manabat to bolster their offensive stock in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.

Manabat’s move to Choco Mucho was made after four conferences with Akari where the team failed to reach the semifinals in each tournaments.

“We are proud to welcome Dindin Santiago-Manabat as the Choco Mucho Flying Titans’ new universal hitter. She is a multi-awarded player, having won several awards as best middle blocker, best opposite and best open hitter,” the club posted through its social media accounts.

Manabat was a regular fixture in the Philippine national team, the most recent was in 2021 and the former National University standout played overseas for club teams in Japan and Thailand.

Joining a title contender, where Choco Mucho logged back-to-back All-Filipino Conference runner-up finishes, is what Manabat needed for a reboot.

Manabat was part of Chery Tiggo squad that became the first team to won a championship in the PVL as a professional league in the Bacarra, Ilocos Norte bubble in 2021.

“She is a welcome addition to the team and will surely bring more fighting spirit to the Titans!” the club added.

Meanwhile, everything is all set for the two-day PVL Combine at the Gameville Ball Park in Mandaluyong City today.

The event will start at 8 a.m. for the free agents and 12 noon for the rookies, where they will undergo anthropometry, strength, jump, speed and agility, anaerobic and speed endurance tests.

The PVL draft lottery to determine the league’s first-over No. 1 overall pick was held last night.
