Dimaampao hailed as invaluable asset to SC
DEPUTY Speaker and Cagayan de Oro City Rep. Rufus Rodriguez has welcomed the appointment of Court of Appeals Justice Japar B. Dimaampao to the Supreme Court (SC).
“As a Mindanaonon, I laud and welcome the appointment of Justice Dimaampao. He is the first Maranao to be named to the high court and the second appointee of Muslim heritage,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez said the Mindanaonon justice “would be an invaluable asset to the Supreme Court, given his long years of service in the Court of Appeals and in the judiciary.”
“He has served the judiciary with utmost competence, dedication and integrity,” Rodriguez continued.
“He will be most helpful especially in resolving tax-related issues, Justice Dimaampao also being an accountant,” Rodriguez said.
“He deserves the appointment. I hope the President will appoint more members of the judiciary from Mindanao,” he added.
