DENR- Calabarzon seizes 200 logs along Quezon river

MORE than 200 pieces of round and half-moon logs were seized by personnel of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) -Real as a result of the agency’s continuous monitoring, patrolling, and surveillance operations along the Magnac River in Bgy. Maligaya and Canaway, General Nakar, Quezon.

Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Calabarzon Regional Executive Director Nilo Tamoria said the confiscated forest products originated from the timberland areas of General Nakar.

Tamoria said the seized logs were hauled and deposited to DENR- CENRO Real Impounding Area in Real, Quezon for safekeeping.

He said Administrative Confiscation Proceedings shall be conducted in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

In an interview, Tamoria emphasized the importance of close collaboration among the PENROs, CENROs, law enforcement agencies, and the communities for the anti-illegal logging operations of the agency.

He commended Quezon Provincial Environment and Natural Resources officer Cyril Coliflores for intensifying the agency’s anti- illegal logging drive and got the good job of his men in the field.
