Delivery guy killed in road mishap
A DELIVERY man died after the motorcycle he was driving was accidentally hit by a truck and ran him over along the National Road of Bgy. Bagong Pook, Rosario, Batangas, the other day.
Rosario Police investigators P/SSg. Jeffrey Carriaga Comia and P/Cpl. Christian Mark I. Comple identified the fatality as Alex Comia, 41, single, delivery rider, and resident of Bgy. Baybayin, Rosario.
The incident was reported by a concerned citizen to the police at 4:50 p.m.
Initial investigations showed that at around 4:45 p.m. an International Harvester Truck with trailer driven by Allan Paul Manubay, 41, married, of Bgy. Banay-banay, Lipa City, Batangas was on a stop position due to traffic congestion when a Motorstar Nicess 110 motorcycle driven by Comia entered the right corner lane of the road.
Due to the height of the truck, the driver did not notice the motorcycle and moved forward as the flow of the traffic progresses causing him to hit the delivery rider and run over.
Comia sustained a severe head injury and damage in different parts of the body causing his instantaneous death.
The body of the victim was brought to Crismar Funeral Services situated at Bgy. Poblacion, Padre Garcia, Batangas while post mortem examination was conducted by Dr. Alice Odette L. Torres, MHO-OIC, of Rosario town.
The truck driver is now under police custody.
