TASK Force Bangon Marawi Chairman Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario has expressed gratitude to the supporters of the government-led rehabilitation of Marawi, saying their gestures keep the Task Force and its implementing agencies motivated in achieving their mission.

While there are still some individuals unconvinced of the government efforts to build Marawi back and better, Secretary Del Rosario noted there is now growing support from individuals and groups to the ongoing massive rehabilitation works.

“I am very happy at least there are some people now who are answering the negative criticism and telling those who are criticizing us negatively that you don’t know what you are talking about,” Secretary Del Rosario stressed.

“And I am grateful for the majority who know that the TFBM, Marawi LGU and provincial government -that we are together to ensure that the rehab will be undertaken smoothly and I can assure you that it will be completed within the term of President (Rodrigo) Duterte,” he noted.

The TFBM chief made the remarks during his latest three-day visit to the country’s lone Islamic city last week, wherein he led the inauguration of four newly constructed barangay complexes in Datu Naga, West Marinaut, Datu Sa Dansalan and Moncado Kadingilan.

He likewise spearheaded the official roll-out of two more newly refurbished Islamic houses of praise – the White Mosque and Masjid Marinaut – during his trip.

The housing czar said that the prioritization of rebuilding the mosques was in compliance to the directive of the President.

Meanwhile, Secretary Del Rosario cited the construction of 24 barangay complexes, describing them as the best in the country each having a health station and madrasah, inside the most affected area (MAA) will promote good governance and leadership.

“These (barangay complexes) symbolize not only of organization but of good governance that our barangay leaders will do once they have these complexes. Before, perhaps you do not have a barangay hall that you can be proud of. But today, we can see that everyone who will visit any barangay in the 24 barangays in MAA will be proud because of the decency, because of the beauty of the whole surroundings in the MAA,” Secretary Del Rosario.

The TFBM chief estimated that the massive rehabilitation of public infrastructure inside Marawi’s MAA is now about 75 to 80 percent complete as he vowed all projects will be finished within the term of President Duterte.
