Dead man found hogtied, with stab wounds in Ecija
SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija — A dead man with stab wounds was found hogtied in a vacant lot here on Friday morning.
Police said they were alerted by a phone call from barangay councilor Juanito Dela Cruz about the body that was discovered in Purok 5, Bgy. San Anton at 7:20 a.m.
Initial investigation showed the victim bore two stab wounds in the stomach. He was wearing red shorts with no upper garments and his legs and hands were tied with straw laces.
Police said the body which was found by barangay tanods was believed dumped in the area by unidentified suspects to mislead authorities.
SSgt. Norwin Cunanan, case prober, said the crime scene was immediately cordoned off and statements of witnesses were taken including the review of CCTV footages surrounding the area to get possible leads in the investigation.
