DA sa 4Ps folk: No more anda bigas na lang
PINAG-IISIPAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na imbes na pera, bigas na lang ang ibibigay sa mga benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Sinabi ni Agriculture Undersecretary Roger Navarro na inirekomenda nila kay Pangulong Marcos na gawing bigas na lang ang ipamahagi at tigilan na ang pera.
“The president is saying that we will consider the proposal and they will take a look on how to implement this proposal,” pahayag ni Navarro.
Sabi ni Navarro, isa itong paraan para bumagal ang inflation sa bansa at bumaba ang presyo ng bigas.
Nasa 20 porsyento o mahigit 20 milyon ang mga Filipino ang tumatanggap ng 4Ps, ayon sa opisyal.
“These are 20% all over the country which are the vulnerable poor, and we’re giving them money, and unfortunately because that is not rice, they’re going to buy rice in the market price; and that puts pressure and inflationary in the market because they’re going to compete with the people who have money.
If we can convert the 4Ps by supplying them with rice instead of money, then probably the inflation on rice will go down,” dagdag ni Navarro.
