A 23-YEAR-OLD graduating college marine student from Mexico, Pampanga was arrested and jailed by agents of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group for allegedly threatening to spread the lewd photos and videos of his ex-girlfriend if she would not have sex with him again, the head of the PNP-ACG said on Wednesday.

The suspect is facing charges for grave coercion and violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act and RA 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, all in relation to RA 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, said PNP-ACG director, Brigadier General Joel B. Doria.

According to the top cybercop, the suspect, a resident of San Isidro, Barangay Laug in Mexico, Pampanga was arrested by members of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 3 headed by Major Evangeline Geminiano during an entrapment operation inside the Orotel Hotel on Tuesday.

An investigation showed the suspect and his ex-girlfriend met again o Facebook sometime last May and rekindled their romance by exchanging romantic messages and videos.

The virtual relationship however turned sour when the suspect started to demand from the victim during their video calls to do online sex and insert certain objects such as a toothbrush and an eggplant inside her private part as he watched and record the video.

The victim decided to break up with the suspect, the official said.

However, the suspect threatened the complainant that if she will not meet up with him personally, he will be spreading her explicit photos and videos on social media prompting the victim to seek the assistance of the PNP-ACG.

“Let me once again remind everyone to refrain from sending private videos/photos of yourself or from engaging video calls revealing too much of yourself as sometimes this can be used to either extort money from you or threatened you to do things you do not want to do,” Brig. Gen. Doria said.

The official also encouraged anyone who may have been victims of similar cases to report to their nearest office to be properly assisted.
