ANOTHER man accused of demanding sex from his former live-in partner in exchange for the deletion of their past “intimate videos” was hauled to jail by agents of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) in an entrapment operation in Quezon City on Wednesday, PNP-ACG Director Brigadier General Joel B. Doria said Friday.

The official said that the 28-year-old suspect is now facing criminal charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009; RA 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004 and grave coercion, all in relation to RA 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

Doria said the suspect is now being held in the PNP-ACG custodial facility.

According to the PNP-ACG director, members of their Women and Children Cybercrime Protection Unit under Colonel Rhodora Maylas arrested the suspect during a sting in QC at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The entrapment operation was launched by the PNP-ACG operatives after the victim sought their help in going after the suspect, whom she said had threatened to “expose” their sex videos on social media if she didn’t have sex with him again.

The complainant said that the accused used to be her live-in partner. However, they broke up in October last year due to the alleged frequent physical and emotional abuse she was undergoing at the hands of the latter.

The woman said that last December 11, she received messages from two Facebook accounts of the suspect containing their sex videos. He also demanded a meet-up and sex in exchange for deleting the lewd videos.

The threats and sexual demands were repeated, prompting the woman to seek the help of the PNP-ACG, which launched the successful sting.

Doria again called on the public to seek their help if they came across a similar modus operandi.

He also reminded everyone to avoid taking photos and videos of their private moments with their partners, as there will be repercussions if those materials fall into the wrong hands.

“We at the PNP-ACG (encourage) victims of online violence perpetrated by their partners to come and report to us. We have female investigators ready to assist you anytime,” the official said.
