Cuevas leads Ecija’s support for BBM after PDP-Laban backing
PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – It is now “full steam” ahead for the provincial council of PDP-Laban in Nueva Ecija headed by Palayan City Mayor Adrianne Mae “Rianne” to lead party support for the presidential candidacy of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (BBM) in the upcoming May 9 polls.
This after the PDP-Laban wing under Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Alfonso Cusi – the faction supported by President Rodrigo R. Duterte, issued a resolution formally endorsing the presidential bid of Marcos Jr., the front-runner in various pre-election surveys with barely seven weeks before the polls.
“Alinsunod sa desisyon ng ating partido sa PDP-Laban, aking hinihikayat ang aking mga kapartido na bigyan natin ng buong suporta ang kandidatura ni BBM,” said Cuevas in her official Facebook page, Tuesday morning.
Cuevas, also the PDP-Laban national treasurer, who was formally endorsed earlier by President Duterte as the ruling party’s gubernatorial bet in Nueva Ecija, said this endorsement for BBM by the party will pave the way for her partymates to go all out in supporting the candidacy of the former senator and only son of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.
Under PDP-Laban’s Resolution No. 26, Series of 2022 issued by its National Executive Committee, it noted that Marcos Jr. is the candidate whose platform is most aligned with the development program of President Duterte.
After getting the gubernatorial endorsement from the president, Cuevas said if ever she wins, she will continue to pursue in the province Duterte’s much-vaunted programs against illegal drugs, poverty, and corruption.
