Crime gang members nabbed in Caloocan drug bust
TWO alleged members of a criminal group involved in illegal drug trading in the Camanava (Caloocan, Malabon, Valenzuela, Navotas) area were arrested in a buy-bust operation Thursday before dawn in Caloocan City.
Northern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) Chief P/Lt. Col. Renato Castillo said the arrested members of “Danny Castro Criminal Group” were both 19 years old and residents of Barangay Bignay, Valenzuela City.
They were arrested by operatives of DDEU at around 3:15 a.m. along 2nd St., 4th Avenue, Bgy. 118 after they conspired to sell illegal drugs worth P3,500 to a police poseur-buyer.
Seized from the two were more or less 15 grams of shabu valued at P102,000 and the marked money consisting of one genuine P500 bill and P1,000 boodle money.
Castillo said the suspects will be charged with selling and possession of illegal drugs under Article II of RA (Republic Act) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Caloocan City prosecutor’s office.
