Creation of new DPWH DEO to benefit Bataan
BALANGA CITY, Bataan — More funds and infrastructure will pour into the province with the establishment of another public works engineering office in Bataan.
Congressman Abet S. Garcia said the creation of the new District Engineering Office (DEO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways for Bataan will provide additional fund for infrastructures and services to the Bataeños.
This development came after a law was passed creating the DPWH 3rd engineering district of Bataan.
People’s Journal Tonight learned that then congressman now Gov Joet S. Garcia had sponsored said law converting the Bataan into 3 DEO. Bataan had then only 2 DEO.
Last May elections, Gila S Garcia was elected as the new representative of Bataan’s 3rd district.
Owing to this, Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan of the Department of Public Works and Highways has appointed a new district engineer of the newly-created district in Bataan.
In his Special Order No. 228, dated September 16, Sec. Bonoan designated Engr. Maribel D. Navarro, as Officer In charge of the 3rd District engineering office (DEO)Bataan, effective immediately.
Said Bonoan in his directive: “Under and by virtue of this order, Engr. Navarro is directed to perform the duties and assume the responsibilities appurtenant to the position of district engineer.”
DPWH Sec. Bonoan further said his order “supersedes previous issuances to the contrary and shall take effect immediately.”
Before her designation as OIC district engineer, Navarro was the assistant district engineer of the Bataan 2nd DEO during which she has performed well in her capacity as the number two top official of the department.
It was learned that Congressman Abet S. Garcia recommended Navarro for the top DPWH position knowing her personally being a native of barangay Camachile, Orion, Bataan.
Navarro is the youngest appointed D.E. in Bataan, it was learned.
