ANTIPOLO CITY — Tots Carlos, Creamline’s third offensive option, bagged the PVL Open Conference MVP award during yesterday’s awards ceremony at the jampacked Ynares Center here.

Carlos became the third season MVP from the Cool Smashers after Alyssa Valdez and Jema Galanza won the league’s highest individual honor.

A former University of the Philippines standout, Carlos led Creamline to its third consecutive Open Conference championship appearance.

The 23-year old Carlos was also a part of the PVL Premier Team, winning the Best Opposite Spiker award.

Cignal HD captured the bulk of the individual awards, with Gel Cayuna taking home the Best Setter award, besting the likes of Creamline’s Jia Morado, Choco Mucho’s Deanna Wong and PetroGazz’s Chie Saet.

Ces Molina bagged the Best Outside Spiker award, while Ria Meneses and Roselyn Doria swept the Best Middle Blocker awards.

It was Meneses’ second consecutive award, having first won it while playing for the Angels in the Ilocos Norte bubble last year.

Despite the short preparation and falling short of making it to the Finals, coach Shaq delos Santos was very happy of the HD Spikers awardees.

“Sobrang nakaka-proud. Nagbunga talaga,” said Delos Santos.

PetroGazz’s Grethcel Soltones, getting her old form back in the season-opening tournament, took the other Best Outside Spiker trophy.

F2 Logistics’ Dawn Macandili, despite her team missing the Final Four, was named the Best Libero.

Cignal HD leveled its best-of-three series for the bronze with Choco Mucho following a 25-18, 27-25, 23-25, 25-17 win.

Molina had 21 points, including two service aces, while Rachel Anne Daquis had four blocks for a 18-point outing to go with 25 digs and eight receptions for the HD Spikers.
