Covid cases in Imus continue to drop

IMUS CITY, Cavite – The City Health Office yesterday said cases of the coronavirus disease – 19 continue to decline in the city.

Based on the latest data of the Imus City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit issued on Wednesday, the city has a total of 399 active cases, 18 of which were new cases from the 72 villages.

The CHO said Covid cases in the city dropped to 600 from 1,083 on April 25.

Before the second lockdown in Cavite last March 29, Covid-19 cases in Imus was recorded at an average of 700.

“Covid-19 effective management in the city, with complete Molecular Laboratory in Ospital ng Imus for the RT PCR test (swab test), mega isolation facility in Bgy. Palico IV ( St. Dymphna Isolation Center) and massive contact tracing, aside from the lockdown implemented by the national government helped why cases continue to decline,” Imus City health officer Dr. Randy Calingasan said.

Of the total 7,238 confirmed coronavirus cases, 6,630 recovered while 209 died from the disease.

The CHO added that of the 401 active cases, 18 were admitted in different hospitals, 369 are in home quarantine and being closely monitored by CHO staff members, and 12 are in local isolation facilities.

The top barangays with highest active Covid-19 cases include Pasong Buaya 2, with 34 active cases; Buhay Na Tubig, with 30 cases; Carsadang Bago 2, with 19 cases; Anabu 2-B, with 17 cases; and Alapan 1-A and Anabu 2-F, with 16 cases each.
