Couple nabbed in Bataan drug sting
MARIVELES, Bataan – Braving the heavy rains, Lt. Col. Cesar Lumiwes M. Lumiwes, chief of police here, and his men initiated a buy-bust operation resulting in the arrest of a couple before dawn today in Bgy. Camaya, this town.
Lumiwes reported to Col. Joel Tampis, Bataan police director, that the suspects who were caught in the act of selling shabu were Reynante Berja and his live-in partner Rowena Barrera, residents of Zone 6, Bgy. Camaya, Mariveles, Bataan
“Acting on a report of a confidential asset, DEU Operatives of Mariveles MPS, 2ND PMFC and Bataan PPDEU led by PLt Eduardo Comchada, in coordination with PDEA RO3 with control no. 10004-072021-0619, conducted a buy-bust operation in Zone 6 Bgy. Camaya, Mariveles, Bataan which resulted in the arrest of the couple,” said Lumiwes in his report to the police director.
During the buy bust, Berja, Lumiwes said, was immediately nabbed after he handed over one piece of small heat sealed suspected shabu to his live-in partner Barrera who, in turn, handed it over to the PNP poseur-buyer in exchange for P500 (buy-bust money).
At this juncture, the police conducted protective search from the suspects and another five pieces of plastic sachet shabu were confiscated from the possession and control of Berja, added Lumiwes.
