FORTY-FOUR wanted persons were hauled to jail by agents of the Cordillera Police Regional Office in line with their stepped-up anti-criminality campaign, local police director, Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee told the Journal Group on Saturday.

In a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Dionardo B. Carlos, the official said that 14 of the suspects were arrested by the Baguio City Police Office; six by the Apayao Police Provincial Office (PPO); four by the Kalinga PPO; two each by the Ifugao and Abra PPOs; and one by the Mountain Province PPO.

Lee said that 12 of the 44 suspects were included in the Regional List of Most Wanted Persons (MWP); five in the Provincial MWP list; three in the Municipal MWP list; and four in the Station Level list.

Among the MWPs arrested were Joseph Ladao, Marlon Gomez and Jeffrey Andrada, all wanted for rape; Reynaldo Yoro, wanted for acts of lasciviousness; Jojit Pinion, wanted for violence against women and their children; and Erico Bachao and Richie Asuncion, both wanted for child abuse.

The others are wanted for robbery with force upon things, estafa and qualified theft, said Lee.

“The arrests were made in the wake of our intensified campaign to account for all wanted persons in the region to prevent them from committing more crimes and ensure that they will pay for their offenses as ordered by Gen. Carlos,” said Lee.
