Cops rescue Chinese nat’l, 3 kidnappers nabbed in Bacoor

BACOOR CITY, Cavite – Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A Director Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. on Friday announced the safe rescue of a 28-year-old female Chinese national kidnapped by her heavily-armed compatriots in Pasay City before being transferred to a safe house in Bacoor City in Cavite.

The official said three Chinese nationals accused of involvement in the abduction of Tong Wu, a data analyst from Neijiang City in Sichuan, China were arrested during the anti-kidnapping operation at Mary Homes Subdivision in Barangay Molina, Bacoor City 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to the victim’s account, she went to the Philippines because the suspects promised her a job and a salary of P150,000, but as soon as the victim arrived here, the suspects abducted her.

Members of the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) headed by Brig. Gen. Rodolfo D. Castil Jr., the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) Provincial Intelligence Unit under Colonel Christopher F. Olazo, and the Bacoor City Police Station launched a joint operation to rescue the victim who was said to have been snatched by the suspects in SMDC Shore C2 in Pasay City before being taken to the Bacoor City safe house by her kidnappers.

Acting on the complaint, officers raided the kidnappers’ hideout, where they rescued the victim unharmed and arrested the three suspects, whose real identities were still being checked as of press time.

Recovered inside the suspects’ safehouse were one white Foton van, one caliber .45 semi-automatic pistol without serial numbers, and a magazine containing five live ammunition, one cal. 40 pistol with a serial number with two magazines containing 38 bullets, one 9mm pistol with a serial number with two loaded magazines, one fragmentation grenade, a jungle knife, two pairs of handcuffs, six mobile phones, a MacBook laptop computer, P78,300 in different denominations, duct tapes and different identification cards.

All suspects will be facing non-bailable charges for kidnapping with serious illegal detention and violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 and RA 9516 or illegal possession of explosives, said Nartatez.
