TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – Alert patrol operatives responded to a disturbance call and arrested an alleged drunk 57-year-old farmer who went berserk and threatened to hurt passers-by while clutching a bottle of gin in his hand on Friday night in this town.

Police head Lt. Col. Marlon M. Cudal said the arrested suspect, a resident of Bgy. Bacal II, was also found in possession of two plastic sachets containing shabu worth P680 when accosted.

After responding to the area, Cudal said lawmen found the suspect creating trouble and hurling invectives at passers-by while holding a gin bottle at 9 p.m. on Friday.

The police official said his men managed to pacify the suspect, who, however, yielded shabu during a routine body search.

The suspect was immediately brought to the police station for proper disposition.

Charges for alarm and scandal and violation of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared for inquest-filing against the suspect before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Cabanatuan City.
