
Cops nab 2 top drug traffickers in W. Visayas
TWO top drug targets in Western Visayas were arrested by agents of the Police Regional Office 6 in a buy-bust operation in Negros Occidental.
Seized during the operation were over two kilograms of shabu worth nearly P13.8 million, PRO6 director Brig. Gen. Sydney N. Villaflor told the Journal Group yesterday.
The two suspects identified as John Valentin Remegio, a 34-year-old resident of Bgy. Caingin in Lapaz, Iloilo City, and Crismark Blancaflor, 27, of Bgy. Poblacion in Bingawan, Iloilo, are facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Villaflor said the two were arrested by undercover officers from the San Carlos City Police Station during a buy-bust operation inside Hacienda Sta. Ana in Bgy. Palampas in San Carlos City shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Recovered from the duo were five plastic packets containing 2,015.25 grams of the “poor man’s cocaine” valued at P13,703,000 and the buy-bust money topped by several marked bills.
A Chevrolet vehicle used by the suspects to transport the drugs was also impounded by the local police.
Villaflor commended the members of the Sna Carlos City Police Station and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office who were behind the arrest of the two top drug personalitiesi n Western Visayas.
