Cops nab 2 Laguna drug ‘pushers’

TWO suspected drug pushers were nabbed by operatives of Drug Enforcement Team (DET) and PDEA Laguna in two separate anti-illegal drug operations on Wednesday afternoon and evening which resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu and gun in Calamba City and Siniloan, Laguna.

Laguna Provincial Director Officer-In-Charge (OIC) P/Col. Rogarth Campo said the arrested suspect identified as Bernardo Jr. Quinto, legal age and resident of Purok 6, Bgy. Lingga, Calamba City.

Calamba OIC Police Chief P/Lt. Col. Arnel Pagulayan said the operation conducted by his team and the PDEA occurred at around 5:45 p.m. that resulted in the arrest of the suspect after being caught in the act of selling one plastic of shabu.

During a preventive search, they recovered from Quinto two plastic sachets of shabu placed in a coin purse with an estimated weight of 2.5 grams valued at P17,000, P500 pesos used as buy-bust money, and a hundred peso bill, 2 pcs. fifty pesos suspected to be drug money.

While in Siniloan, Laguna, police chief Maj. Silver Cabanillas said they arrested one Arsenio Gabriel, for selling shabu and confiscated from his possession a caliber 45 pistol during the anti-drug operation, Wednesday in Bgy. Halayhayin.

Maj. Cabanillas said the suspect will be facing violation of RA 9165, RA 10591, and violation of Sec 261 of BP 881 or Omnibus Election Code.

The suspect was arrested about 9:13 p.m. during an anti-illegal drug operation with PDEA that resulted in the confiscation of suspected shabu and one cal. 45 pistol with inserted magazine, loaded with six pieces of live ammo.
