FOR helping a woman safely deliver her baby inside a restroom near their station in Lanao del Norte last Saturday, two local policemen have been praised by netizens and Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, the Journal Group learned.

It turned out that the pregnant woman was about to go to the rural health unit in Kauswagan municipality when she stopped by a restroom beside the Kauswagan Municipal Police Station on Saturday.

While in the restroom, the woman was unaware she was about to give birth. However, she managed to ask for assistance from local policemen as she was already experiencing labor pains.

Without any hesitation, Corporal Arturo Quitoras and Patrolwoman Clare Aboc rushed to the woman’s help and sought the assistance of nurses from the nearby municipal health unit.

The cops also saw to it that the woman and her baby were given adequate medical assistance before leaving her with the arrival of her relatives.

Gen. Eleazar praised the police officers for immediately responding to the situation.

“Marami na ang napabalita na mga pulis na tumutulong sa pagpapaanak sa mga buntis. Nakakataba ng puso na patuloy pa itong ginagawa ng iba pa nating kapulisan upang makapagbigay ng tulong sa mga babaeng nangangailangan. Tunay na walang pinipiling pagkakataon para tumulong ang ating kapulisan,” the PNP chief said.
