Cops get over P4M equipment from PNP foundation

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday formally received over P4 million worth of police and office equipment donated by the PNP Foundation Incorporated (PNPFI) to help boost the capabilities of the 225,000-strong force.

PNP Director for Logistics, Major General Ronaldo E. Olay, in behalf of PNP Officer-in-Charge, Lieutenant Gen. Vicente D. Danao Jr. accepted the P4,058,100.00 worth of donation from the PNPFI represented by Board Trustee, Architect Ka Kuen Chua during simple rites at the PNP Star Officers’ Lounge at Camp Crame.

The donated equipment include 102 sets of desktop computers, 61 computer printers, 5 laptop computers, 18 portable public system with 2 wireless microphones, 4 CCTV cameras and 21 mountain bikes.

The donated equipment will be distributed to the PNP Forensic Group, the Police Regional Office 2, Rizal Police Provincial Office, the Plaridel Municipal Police Station in Quezon, the Batangas 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Puerto Princesa City Forensic Unit, the Sto. Domingo MPS in Albay, the Masbate 1st PMFC, the PRO6 Regional Comptroller Division, the Roxas City Police Station in Iloilo,

The Regional Forensic Unit 11, the Regional Finance Service 12, the Police Regional Office 13 specifically the General Luna and San Benito MPS in Surigao del Norte; and the Barobo and San Miguel MPS in Surigao del Sur as well as the Surigao del Sur 1st PMFC.

“To our PNP personnel, may these donated police and office equipment inspire you to serve even more as we provide effective, efficient, and sustainable services for our beloved countrymen,” Maj. Gen. Olay said.

Lt. Gen. Danao said said that the PNPFI’s generosity complements their efforts to modernize the police organization particularly in the improvement of their capability to move, shoot, communicate and investigate.

“All of your donations will really go a long way in enhancing the effectiveness and productivity of our police officers in performing their mandated law enforcement and public safety functions, “the top cop said.
