THREE young women, including two sisters, involved in a big-time selling of illegal drugs, were busted by authorities in a drug sting operation Tuesday before dawn in Navotas City.

Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/BGen. Jose Santiago Hidalgo, Jr. identified the arrested suspects as Kyla Marie Legaspi, 22, her younger sister Kristal Shaine. 19, both of 46 Miguel St. Brgy. NBBN and Marizza Adalla, 29, of 18 Taganahan St. Brgy. Bagumbayan South.

The arrest of the suspects was the result of a week-long surveillance operation conducted by operatives of Navotas Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) following a tip from their confidential informant regarding the illegal drug activities of the two sisters.

At around 3:50 a.m., P/Cpl. Christian Oclares, who posed as poseur-buyer, was able to transact a medium-sized plastic sachet of shabu worth P6,000.00 to Kyla Marie along Leaño St., Brgy. Bangkulasi, Navotas City that resulted in her arrest, along with her younger sister and their cohort.

Navotas Police Chief P/Col. Dexter Ollaging said operatives of SDEU, led by P/Lt. Luis Rufo, Jr., recovered a total of 162 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P 1,101,600.00, the marked money consisting of one genuine P1,000.00 peso bill and five pieces of P1,000 boodle money, a digital weighing scale, mobile phone, and a small notebook containing coded names and numbers.

The suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Navotas City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs under R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
