Cop nabbed over deadly road mishap
AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) have arrested an active policeman wanted for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and physical injuries in Manila, PNP-IMEG director, Brigadier General Warren F. De Leon said on Wednesday.
The official identified the accused as Corporal Manuel B. Co, the subject of a warrant of arrest for service of sentence issued by Judge Delight Aissa Salvador of the Manila City Regional Trial Court Branch 29 last September 15.
De Leon said the 40-year-old cop was arrested by members of the IMEG National Capital Region Field Unit with the assistance of officers from the NCR Police Office Regional Special Operations Group and the Manila Police District Station 1 last September 20 inside the MPD Pritil Police-Community Precinct in Tondo.
The accused was temporarily detained at the IMEG-NCRFU lock-up facility in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City following his arrest.
