“NOOOOO!” The horrified wife must have screamed in her mind. Seconds after alighting from the car, a cop allegedly shot her husband who had been driving the vehicle. Instinctively, she tried to defend her spouse — only to suffer the same bloody, violent death.

Apparently unknown to the suspect, an unlikely witness silently captured details of the twin killings — a CCTV camera.

A 46-year-old policeman was later arrested for allegedly shooting dead the man and his wife in Butuan City on Monday evening, officials said.

Senior Master Sergeant Darwin Nolasco, a member of the Dinagat Municipal Police Station, was arrested by responding policemen shortly after he killed the victims outside their residence in Princess 1 Subdivision located in Purok 6, Barangay Villa Kananga, Butuan City, a Police Regional Office 13 (PRO13) report said.

The victims were identified as Charlie Añasco, described as an agent of RCH Trading Petron, and his wife Mary Anne. There were reports that Añasco is a local policeman too.

A CCTV footage showed the suspect as he allegedly waited for the occupants of a black Toyota Vios with plate no. KGH 381 to alight from the vehicle.

The footage showed the female victim leaving the vehicle before returning for a while as her husband was parking their car. Seconds later, the suspect went near the driver and without provocation shot him twice before shooting the woman as she tried to come to the defense of her husband.

The gunman later emptied the magazine of his pistol on the car driver who was later identified as Charlie Añasco. Members of the Butuan City police station led by Lieutenant Richard Gorme rushed to the site after getting a phone call from concerned citizens and found the victims already dead.

Other responding policemen were able to arrest the suspect who yielded the weapon he used to kill the couple, said the report from the PRO13 under Brigadier Gen. Pablo Labra II.
There were no other details given regarding the incident.
