A POLICEMAN is facing dismissal from service after he allegedly shot a college student in Quezon City.

The suspect identified as Cpl. Reymark Rigor, 28, assigned at the Kamuning police Station 10, surrendered to his superiors on Thursday afternoon, two days after he went into hiding.

He was immediately disarmed of his .9mm service firearm and is currently under investigation.

A report from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District showed the shooting incident happened last Tuesday, Feb. 8 along Scout Rallos Extension in Barangay Sacred Heart.

Rigor is accused of shooting Adrianne Castor, 22, a student of the CIIT Kamuning Campus, along Scout Rallos Extension in Barangay Sacred Heart at around 9:47 p.m.

Probers said the victim was on his way home on board a Grab car when Rigor, who was riding a motorcycle, blocked their way.

The policeman, who was allegedly drunk, alighted from his motorcycle and approached the car.

Rigor then pulled out his handgun and pointed at Castor. For unknown reasons, he retreated to his motorcycle and drove off but crashed in the middle of the road.

Trying to avoid an altercation, Castor went down from the car to guide the driver to a U-Turn slot.

Without provocation, Rigor shot Castor once on the chest and escaped in an unknown direction.

The victim was brought to a hospital and is still recuperating.

Police investigators recovered a bullet case at the scene of the shooting.
