CONVERGE showed too much class in beating TNT Tropang Giga, 130-117, in a record-setting game in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Quincy Miller exploded with 38 points, including 9-of-14 shooting from the three-point territory, to power the FiberXers to their third straight win and a 4-2 win-loss record.

Miller also had of 20 rebounds and five assists in 44 minutes of action.

Jeron Teng finished with 22 points, Aljun Melecio added 20 points and Justine Arana had 14 points for the FiberXers of coach Aldin Ayo.

Michael DiGregorio had 13 markers.

Cameron Oliver led the Tropang Giga with 41 points and 11 rebounds.

Mikey Williams had 27 points and six assists, followed by RR Pogoy with 19 and Kib Montalbo with 13.

The win was a memorable one for Converge.

Before the TNT game, Converge’s most points scored was 112 points (against NLEX 108) in the Philippine Cup last July 7 also at Araneta.

The FiberXers surpassed the mark with 113 points thru three quarters.

Their 130-point total score was also the second most behind only Bay Area’s 133 points against Blackwater.

Miller’s nine triples was also the most by an import in more than seven years or since Arizona Reid’s also had nine in SMB’s 124-102 victory over GlobalPort in the Governors Cup last May 17, 2015.

Converge’s 21 triples is tied for the seventh all-time most in a game and the most since Phoenix had 22 in a 110-103 win versus SMB on Nov. 5, 2020 in the Clark bubble.

The scores:
