HERE comes Alec Stockton.

Stockton took charge in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter as the Converge FiberXers rolled back Meralco Bolts, 105-97, in their PBA Governors’ Cup showdown at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Jalen Jones, who replaced Scotty Hopson as import, led the FiberXers with 32 points on 14-of-34 shooting, and 10 rebounds in 41 minutes of action for coach Franco Atienza.

Stockton added a double-double game of 27 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for the FiberXers, who improved to 5-4 win-loss record. Stockton 12 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter alone.

Former PBA Best Import awardee Allan Durham and CJ Cansino led the Bolts of coach Luigi Trillo.

Durham paced the losers with 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists while Cansino added 21 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, veterans LA Tenorio, Ian Sangalang, and Cliff Hodge will be recognized by the PBA Press Corps when it holds its 30th Awards Night on Sept. 24 at the Novotel Manila Araneta City.

Hodge will be honored as the Defensive Player of the Year.

Tenorio and Sangalang , on the other hand, are the recipients of the Bogs Adornado Comeback Player of the Year award from the group of sportswriters regularly covering Asia’s pioneering pro league.

As Meralco’s long-time pillar at the post, the 36-year-old Hodge averaged 9.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, while providing tons of hustle and hard work that were hardly reflected in the stats.

Hodge has been with the Bolts since 2012 when the team selected him no. 4 overall during the draft.
