SINIMULAN na ni Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship at Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion ang pakikipag-usap sa mga supplier ng anti-viral drug Molnupiravir na bilang paraan para tulungan ang maliliit na negosyo na ang mga manggagawa ay tinamaan ng COVID-19.

Inaprubahan kamakailan ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) para sa Molnupiravir, isang oral medicine na nakatutulong para mabawasan ang malalang sintomas ng COVID-19.

“This is our way of helping MSMEs and our partners in the A Dose of Hope Program. We want them to get access to this drug as many frontline workers of businesses have been infected recently.

They are yet to recover fully from the effects of the pandemic,” wika ni Concepcion.

Idinagdag pa ni Concepcion na ang paggamit ng nasabing anti-viral drug ay may superbisyon at babantayang maigi ng mga doktor ng pribadong sektor.

Batay sa kanyang inisyal na pakikipag-usap sa ilang supplier, sinabi ni Concepcion na ang presyo ng Molnupiravir ay naglalaro sa pagitan ng P1,991 hanggang P5,200 kada bote, depende sa dami ng order at sa supplier.

“Through this initiative, we can alleviate the plight of our small businesses by providing their workers access to needed medicines that can help them recover from the virus. If they have recovered and healthy employees, they can continue doing business and help our economy,” giit ni Concepcion.

Sa katatapos na Town Hall Meeting na inorganisa ng Go Negosyo, sinabi ni Vaccine Expert Panel member at infectious disease expert Dr. Rontgene Solante na ang Molnupiravir ay ibinibigay sa mga pasyente na may banayad hanggang katamtamang COVID-19 ng dalawang beses sa isang araw sa loob ng limang araw upang hindi sila maospital at maging malala ang kanilang kondisyon.

Batay sa datos, sinabi ni Solante na nababawasan ang tsansa na maospital at masawi ng 30 porsiyento.

Idinagdag pa ni Solante na kapag pinag-aralan ang datos mula sa ilang pag-aaral sa India, nakatutulong din ang, Molnupiravir upang mabawasan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19.

“Because data tells us that if you give Molnupiravir, on the third day of the drug, you will have half of the viral load will be cut. Meaning you lower your viral load more than 50 percent during the third day of the drug,” wika ni Solante.

Sa ikalimang araw ng pag-inom ng nasabing gamot, sinabi ni Solante na ang tinatawag na viral load ay lalo pang nababawasan ng 80 porsiyento.

“What is the impact there? There is a possibility that you can get patients go back to work because they’re not transmissible because they’re taking the drug and at the same time, the absence of symptoms which usually starts on the second and third day of the drug and total absence of symptoms five to seven days, that will make the patient really better and reduce the risk of hospitalization and also reduce the risk of transmissibility,” paliwanag pa niya.

Sinabi ni Concepcion na sapat na ang Molnupiravir habang hindi pa dumarating ang Paxlovid, isang oral formulation na kombinasyon ng dalawang gamot na ibinibigay ng isang beses.

“It has been found out that it reduces hospitalization more than 80 percent if you give it in the first three days and first five days of symptoms,” ani Solante.
