CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – A 36-year-old farmer tagged as No. 9 most wanted person in Central Luzon was arrested on Thursday at a checkpoint in Dipaculao, Aurora.

Aurora police acting director Col. Julio Lizardo said the Dipaculao and 2nd Platoon Provincial Mobile Force Company policemen were manning a checkpoint in Bgy. Dinadiawan, Dipaculao, Aurora, when they chanced upon suspect Alfredo Bernal.

Police said Bernal has a standing warrant of arrest for multiple rape issued by Baler, Aurora Regional Trial Court Branch 96 dated September 29, 2006.

“May this send a strong message that Central Luzon is not a safe haven for criminals. We will continue our manhunt operations to cleanse our communities of criminals and lawless elements,” Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay said.
