Cloe not from the popular showbiz clan
CLOE Barreto was introduced in the films “Silab” and “Anak ng Macho Dancer”. Most people thought she comes from the family of the famous Barretto Sisters, but she says Barreto is just a screen name for her as her real name is Chloe Ann Ricafort Sy.
The 22-year old charmer is from Oriental Mindoro and her parents, Miguel and Estrella Sy, have given their permission for her to do sexy films. She was only 15 when she started joining beauty pageants then she became a part of an all-girl singing group which became her training ground in showbiz.
She now appears in Vivamax’ new TV series, “L”, a trilogy of different stories with three different directors. She appears in the episode titled “Liko”, directed by EJ Salcedo, best known for the indie film “Third World Happy” that starred Jodi Sta. Maria and Sam Milby.
So what’s her role in the “Liko” episode of “L”? “I play Liza, a woman of mystery,” she says. “Kasama ko rito si Vince Rillon as Lucas, na mahilig mag-drive mag-isa sa gabi. One night, hinintuan niya ako sa kalye and picked me up. Akala niya, pokpok akong naghahanap ng kostumer.”
Vince asks her to join him and she does. “Pinasakay niya ako sa sasakyan niya and then nag-check in kami sa motel and we had a passionate night of sex. Noong maghihiwalay na kami, binabayaran niya ako, for my services daw. Pero tinanggihan ko at ibinalik ko sa kanya.”
She confesses to Vince that she is just a bored and lonely housewife. “Aba, na-excite siyang hindi pala ako babaeng bayaran. Nag-meet kami uli several times, and he convinced me to accept ‘yung money na ibinibigay niya sa akin kaya tinanggap ko naman. Tapos, isang gabi, bigla na lang akong hindi sumipot sa date namin at hinanap niya ako nang hinanap. Kung makikita niya pa ko uli o hindi na, ‘yun ang dapat nyong panoorin.”
She’s been used to being directed by Joel Lamangan in her films. How is it now being directed by EJ Salcedo?
“I find it a great opportunity to work with Direk EJ kasi iba naman ang style niya. Mahirap ‘yung sex scenes with Vince but he is always there to guide me. Bawat eksena, lagi siyang nakaalalay at maingat din siya in executing every scene. Hindi basta malaswa ang dating.”
She finds her role as Liza so very challenging. “Ang hirap talaga kasi her character is so different from what I am in real life. I asked Direk EJ to help me interpret the role kasi hindi ko talaga alam.”
She did a lot of sex scenes with Vince. How did she attack it? “Ako, I treat it as work lang talaga. When I’m doing it, I just have to be in character, para magmukhang realistic. Kasi ang pangit naman kung halata ng audience na inaarte mo lang ang eksena. But after sumigaw na ng cut si Direk EJ, then I return to my real self. Dapat maihiwalay mo yung character mo sa kung ano ka in real life para di ka mapraning na dala-dala mo pa rin yung role kahit wala ka na sa harap ng kamera.”
