CL anti-crime ops net over 400 suspects

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – A week-long anti-crime campaign of the Central Luzon (CL) police yielded a total of 420 arrests, 9,435.53 grams of seized illegal drugs, and cash bets from illicit gambling.

PRO (Police Regional Office) 3 director Brig. Gen Jose Hidalgio Jr. said among the 420 arrested, 137 were wanted persons with strings of warrants ranging from murder, rape, and frustrated murder, 149 were nabbed for illegal drugs, 114 were accosted for illegal gambling, 15 were arrested for illegal possession of firearm, and five were apprehended for violation of other special laws.

Some 62 assorted firearms were also confiscated, including 9,435.53 grams of shabu and marijuana with a DDB (Dangerous Drugs Board) value of P3,404,986.40 and P63,591 cash bets recovered from anti-illegal gambling operations.

Hidalgo said the accomplishments were the result of timely coordination, intelligence-driven operations of the police units as well as the strong support of local officials and those from the private sector in the region.

“The PRO3 remains steadfast in mobilizing its resources along with its continuous efforts to address lawlessness in the region,” Hidalgo said.
